Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Planning Guide

Quote from the guide:

The hardest part of your Eagle Leadership Service Project is getting started because you are not sure what is expected...  If at any time you do not understand what is expected or do not know what to do, ask a troop leader for help.

  **New Eagle Application**

EagleApplication58-728A.pdf

The new printing of the Eagle Scout Rank Application, No. 58-728A, has a notable change. Now, under Requirement 5, the name of the candidate’s Eagle project is required, as well as the grand total of hours devoted to it (from page 10 of the Eagle Scout Leadership Project Workbook).  While the new application will be required beginning May 1, 2008, we advise that Eagle Scout candidates begin using it immediately to ensure that the required information

is available should the Eagle Scout board of review happen after the May 1 date.

Initial Project Approvals

Your project plan must be approved by your unit leader, unit committee, and council or district advancement committee before the project is started.

The following questions must be answered before giving this approval:

■ Who will benefit from the project?

■ How will they benefit?

■ What official from the group benefiting from the project will be contacted for guidance in planning the project?

■ How many people will be recruited to help carry out the project?

Remember, the project must be approved before you begin, so make sure all signatures have been secured before you start the project. You must be a Life Scout before you begin an Eagle Scout leadership service project.
